IMEG seminars are
held regularly each Wednesday afternoon at 12:10 p.m. to 1:10 p.m. The Institute of Molecular Evolutionary Genetics sponsors weekly seminars during the fall and spring semesters. Speakers are invited from both inside and outside the Penn State scientific community. Each speaker is asked to present a short abstract (about 100 words) and a few references to be included with their seminar title announcement. This information has been requested by the students who are taking the seminar as a credit course. Students who are in the Option of Molecular Evolutionary Biology are required to take this seminar course (Biology 591) for 3 credits. Students who want to take this seminar course for a credit are required to present one lecture or write a commentary on two lectures given by other speakers. A commentary should be two pages long (typed in double spaced) for each of the two lectures and consist of (1) purpose of the research, (2) findings, (3) significance, and (4) critique. |
